The females

Donor Pen

The show heifers and donor females we've kept to build our program on. This pen is where the next generation of RK Livestock prospects starts.

Two of these females — Memphis and Pearl — were personally bought by Kadence, who is a part owner in both. A well-thought-out, big purchase she made with the help of Ryan and Kristin.

Donor females

Memphis — champion show heifer and donor female at RK LivestockKadence · Part owner7 photos

Featured donor

Memphis

The female Kadence built his record on — over 30 buckles won showing this gal. Memphis was named Grand Champion Heifer at the Eastern Idaho State Fair, Bonneville County Fair, the 2 Karat Showdown, and both shows at the Cassia Classic. A proven champion that now headlines our donor pen.

Sire: Memphis Mafia — Dam: Silveiras Saras Dream 1339

Bred by Colburn Cattle Company

Her sire needs no introduction — Memphis Mafia heifers are highly sought after and often super spendy, with $100,000 offers not unusual. Her dam, Silveira Sara's Dream 1339, is famous in her own right as the dam of Colburn Primos.

  • Reserve Champion Maine-Anjou Heifer — 208 Qual'fier

Bacardi — champion show heifer and donor female at RK Livestock2 photos + clip

Bacardi

One of a kind in our pen. Bacardi can step into a breeding class and a market class and be competitive in both — that takes a whole different kind of animal, and she's one of them. A real beast in the ring.

Pearl

A light-cream breeding heifer with a lot of presence in the ring. Pearl stepped into the breeding pen at the 208 Qualifier and finished fifth overall in Ring A — holding her own against a deep pen of heifers. Her name is written right on her ear tag, and she carries it like a champion.

Midnight — champion show heifer and donor female at RK Livestock4 photos

Midnight

A powerful Lim-Flex breeding heifer sired by Do What's Right and out of Gone Country. Deep-bodied, well-made, and extremely sound and correct in her build. Her show career was cut short by an injury, but she had already proven her value — and in production she has proven it again.

Sire: Do What's Right — Dam: Gone Country

A true steer-making mama. Midnight consistently passes on her muscle, body depth, and overall quality, and her calves carry the same performance-oriented traits that made her such an exciting prospect. We have several descendants of Midnight in this year's offering.

  • Steer-making donor female
  • Deep-bodied, sound, and correct in her build
  • Several of her descendants in this year's offering

Ginger

A flashy donor female that keeps impressing us. Sired by COD and out of a Dakoda Gold cow, Ginger consistently adds color, rib shape, hair, and bone to every calf she raises. She's already produced several standout calves — and we thought enough of her IGWT calf from last year to retain it in our own herd. We're excited about this young cow's future and can't wait to watch her influence shape the program in the years ahead. Keep an eye out for her calves in our next calf crop.

Sire: COD — Dam: Dakoda Gold

  • Dam of a retained IGWT calf — kept in our own herd

Peaches

Our first true donor female and the cornerstone of our club calf program. Peaches made the backdrop herself, taking Reserve Overall Market Animal at the Bonneville County Fair, and she has since produced a string of successful show calves for us — including one of our first Champion Steers. Her consistency is what made her a staple of this pen, and her influence runs through the herd to this day. The kind of cow who helped build our program and keeps leaving her mark on every generation behind her.

Sire: Dakoda Gold — Dam: Registered Simmental

  • Sired by Dakoda Gold
  • Out of a Registered Simmental dam
  • Reserve Overall Market Animal — Bonneville County Fair
  • Produced one of our first Champion Steers
  • Foundation female of our club calf program
